Commercial Business Analyst

The Vendor Management Business Analyst role is integral to the commercial workstream of the clients programme. The individual will be responsible for analysing recent contracts with large IT suppliers, proposing new service division methods, and recommending strategies to optimize service value.

Responsibilities include:

Contract Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of large IT contracts, change requests (CRs), and contract change notes (CCNs) with major IT suppliers.
  • Understand service quality and delivery by conducting stakeholder interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and SLAs, identifying discrepancies or potential risks such as duplicate service spend.
  • Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to share information aiding contract renegotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Tactical Recommendations

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements within vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Develop strategies to reduce costs and optimize vendor spending while maintaining service quality and performance standards.
  • Recommend high-level service bundling strategies to provide a commercially advantageous perspective to the Strategy Design & Transition (SD&T) team.

Inputs / Triggers

  • Access to initial analyses, contracts, CRs, and CCNs provided by the Commercial and Procurement Contract Management team.
  • Stakeholder availability for end user interviews.
  • Strategic direction for the SIAM model as provided by the Programme (e.g., Internal, External, or Hybrid).

Outputs / Outcomes

  • Historical analysis and data interpretation to identify value and control issues, including spend analysis.
  • Detailed write-up on end user interviews.
  • Executive summary outlining tactical improvements for CRs, CCNs, and existing contracts.
  • High-level service bundling suggestions for the SD&T team.
