Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to across our operations. This position is vital to maintaining a safe working environment for our employees and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, particularly during the installation of solar panels.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to minimize risk.
  • Provide health and safety training and guidance to employees and subcontractors.
  • Investigate any incidents or accidents and report findings, including recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices, ensuring the company's policies reflect current standards.
  • Liaise with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Prepare and submit health and safety reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably within the construction or renewable energy sector but not essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly those related to construction and electrical installations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate others.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
