Systems Engineer
Location: New Malden (hybrid) 60% on site.
Salary: £42,153 depending on qualifications & experience
What you'll be doing:
- Generation of design, test, and installation documentation
- Investigation and resolution of design issues
- Design and build of electrical and hardware systems to achieve successful acceptance
- Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines
- Use of Visio for Hardware design
- Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship
- Design proving via a combination of in-house testing and external test houses
- Authoring of test specs for shock, vibration, EMC and others
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience in a hardware domain
- Knowledge and experience of equipment development using COTS hardware
- Ability to author and understand technical and design documentation
Desirable:
- Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment
- Experience with COTS cabinets, cabinet design, wiring schedules, power distribution
- Familiarity with blade, PC and networking technologies
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered
