Speech and Language Teaching Assistant - Andover
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful SEN School in Andover.
About the Role: This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent. You will work 36 hours per week, 43 weeks per year (term time and 4 weeks during school holidays).
- Salary: NJC Scale POA £33,482 - £37,320 per annum plus an SSA of £1,270 per annum.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with experience working with children and adolescents with special educational needs. The successful candidate will join an established Therapy Team within an SEN secondary school recently rated as 'Good' by OFSTED. You will work with students aged 11-19 who have a variety of conditions including autistic spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, respiratory, neurological, and neuromuscular pathologies.
You will need to work well as part of both the Therapy Team and the wider school team. This role offers exciting opportunities including assessments, group work, one-to-one therapy, and class-based interventions, in collaboration with teaching staff, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation assistants.
The Therapy Team is responsible for integrating clinical intervention across all aspects of the educational curriculum, ensuring pupils can readily access and engage in learning. All therapy staff are supported by the Therapy Team lead and senior clinicians across therapy disciplines.
