IT Service Designer

In the role of an IT Service Designer you'll collaborate with Enterprise Architects, IT, and Business Operational teams to ensure the seamless design and implementation of new or enhanced services. Leading from a Service Design perspective, you'll guide technical changes, working closely with technical teams to conduct thorough design reviews, testing prototypes, and evaluating system impacts across the entire service lifecycle—not just during delivery. Your expertise will ensure that both functional and non-functional requirements are meticulously documented and validated with appropriate test cases. .

This role can be based mainly from home with occasional travel to an office for important meetings or training.

What you'll be doing:

  • By applying best practice principles you shall create Service Design documentation that will describe the support requirements for a particular service as part of the Service Design Pack.
  • Working with Business Analysts to establish and document the non-functional service requirements for any new or changed services and represent these at all project gateways to assure that these requirements are being delivered.
  • Establishing and documenting the service acceptance criteria that a project must achieve before being accepted into BAU operation.
  • Making sure that all changes are assessed and handled in accordance with the contracts that SSCL has with the end client and third parties. Ensuring that all changes align with the mandatory standards and security requirements.
  • You will lead from a Service Design perspective for any technical change, engaging with the technical teams to make sure that options analysis, proof-of-concepts and system impact assessments have been completed satisfactorily for the entire life cycle of the Service not just the delivery stages.

What you'll bring:

  • Fulfilled a Service Design role involving complex IT services.
  • Proven experience in leading impacts to Service, driven from technical changes and documented non-functional requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within complex service models with system and service integration between third parties in the delivery of the end to end services.
  • ITIL qualified

It would be great if you had:

  • Understanding of Agile ways of work & DevOps pipeline delivery.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tooling (ServiceNow)
  • Previously worked within Public Sector or Defence Industry
