Maintenance and Repair Manager

Location: Bridgwater

Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum

Overview: Join a pivotal role in ensuring the operational integrity and maintenance efficiency of a key project in the UK's energy sector. This role involves managing and overseeing the maintenance and repair activities post-construction phase, ensuring adherence to strict health, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team responsible for the maintenance and repair activities in accordance with project specifications and client requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery, including design, engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Supervise health, safety, and welfare on site, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Implement and maintain asset management systems, including defect management and commissioning support.
  • Contribute to project documentation and final handover procedures.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team through complex construction challenges.
  • Ensure meticulous care and maintenance of site services, adhering to planned project timelines and budgets.
  • Engage proactively in project planning meetings and performance reviews.
  • Support engineers and supervisors, facilitating efficient resource management and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Construction qualification through apprenticeship (Level 2 ONC minimum, ideally Level 3 HNC).
  • Level 3 NVQ Construction Site Supervision.
  • Relevant health and safety qualification.
  • First-line management qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS 365.
  • CSCS Card (Engineer Skill card or JIB/ECS).
  • Full driving license.

Additional Qualifications/Experience:

  • Extensive experience in large-scale projects, ideally in the nuclear or similar regulated sectors.
  • Experience in managing care and maintenance operations at a functional management level.
  • BEng/MEng in relevant disciplines.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as CIOB or CIBSE (or working towards).
  • Knowledge of MS Project or Asta Power Project.
  • Understanding of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.

Working Pattern and Location:

  • 37 hours per week.
  • Primary location: Bridgwater, with occasional travel as required.
