Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Didcot
Our client, a leading organisation in the field of Environmental Science, is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join their team. You will play a crucial role in performing analytical tasks and duties to the highest standards, specifications, and time constraints. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of your work and undertaking non-routine tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical duties independently and meet productivity and quality specifications.
- Follow methods, standard operating procedures, local rules, and regulations to maintain good laboratory practise.
- Comply with the Laboratory Quality System.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate work records.
- Report any faults and abnormalities in equipment and data.
- Assist in the training of new staff members when required.
- Support the Line Manager in achieving production and quality targets.
Quality and Technical Responsibilities:
- Support the Team Leader.
- Assist in the investigation of failed/repeat PT results and raised issues.
- Conduct equipment calibration when trained to do so.
Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent in English, Science, and Maths, grade C or above.
- Experience working in a high-pressure, production-driven environment.
- Basic understanding of scientific principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with safe working procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of UKAS and MCERTS standards.
