Students Union Administrator
Location: University Campuses, Cirencester
Salary: Grade 5: £25,138 - £29,605 per annum pro rata
Job Type: Permanent, 21 hours per week
They are seeking to recruit an administrator to support the Students' Union in delivering its strategy for 2024/25 and beyond, to facilitate student representation and to develop and maintain administrative systems. They are looking for someone comfortable with engaging with both our students and university senior management to support them as they deliver an exceptional student experience.
The Role
The Students' Union Administrator will support the SU to deliver its strategy. This role will provide support for all aspects of daily business of our Union including administration, operational and financial. Our relationships with key stakeholders are important and our administrator will assist in the facilitation of good working relationships. The Students' Union Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the expectations of our Board of Trustees, the University and most importantly, our student body are met.
Duties and responsibilities
- To assist with development and implementation of University strategy
- To manage the day to day administrative workload of the University, including scheduling of all meetings and minute taking.
- Create, update and maintain the marketing channels, including a website
- Work with the clubs and societies to understand and assist with management of their budgetary allocation
- Assist with the preparation for and management of the annual election
- Help to ensure continuity of systems and processes between periods of office
- Foster a positive working environment with a good team spirit including the wider support teams with student experience at the forefront of all.
Skills and Qualifications
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent administrative experience
- Experience of standard IT packages
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders within the University and the wider institution
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to new challenges and opportunities
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and a high degree of flexibility owing to the cyclical nature of working for a Students Union and sudden changes to workload
- Ability to work as part of a team with Student Officers who are at different stages of their educational development
- At times out of hours working will be required in order to provide support to important SU events
