Role and key responsibilities for Packhouse Porter:
- to ensure orders are correctly made and build pallets as instructed in accordance with customer requirements ready for dispatch
- to ensure lorries are loaded as required
- to be available as required to load lorries at the end of the day and at the weekend if due to occur out of hours
- to ensure goods inward' and outward's are properly controlled and any issues related to the Packhouse Manager
- to ensure stocks are properly rotated
- to deal with incoming fresh product from the farm properly, recording and weighing trays/trolleys as shown
- to adequately carry out the necessary stock checks
- to be responsible, along with the Packhouse Manager, for ensuring the necessary H&S Policies & Procedures are practiced
- to liaise with the Farm regarding goods inward
- to ensure the main Packhouse, fridges and linking areas are kept clear, clean and tidy
- to ensure materials are recycled properly using the appropriate equipment
- to carry out tray counts as instructed and record information correctly, forwarding the information to the Packhouse Manager or Main Office as required
- to ensure pallet stocks and pallet counts are carried out as instructed and recorded correctly, forwarding the information to the Packhouse Manager or Main Office as required
- to make sure the packing lines' are properly fed' with the correct product so that packers are always topped up with appropriate raw materials
- to ensure those packers carrying out piece work are always adequately provided with suitable product efficiently
- to be accurate and methodical when making & building orders ready for dispatch to ensure all orders are correct to avoid depot rejections
- Help with routine cleaning tasks as required
Role and key responsibilities for Packhouse Porter:
- Physically fit and able to cope with a fast paced environment, multi-tasking when requiredensure lines receive the correct product so that packers always have product available.
- Able to speak and understand English, and able to follow instructions with minimal explanation.
- Be accurate and methodical with their work
- Fork Lift experience will be considered an advantage but not essential as training can be provided
Working Hours To be agreed. Between 22 and 30 a week with at least three days off
Monday - Thursday shifts would be 10.30am to 7pm
One weekend shift a week - 7am to 12pm
Two shift patterns available 22 hours a week or 30 hours a week, Overtime may be available when cover is necessary
Job Types: Temporary to Permanent
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
