We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to be employed on a 12-month fixed-term contract for an established organisation within the print sector.
This is a great role for someone with 5+ years of experience in a similar setting and who has an understanding of UK GAAP and basic tax matters.

Responsibilities include:
- Oversee accruals and pre-payments, prepare stock and other GL journals.
- Ensure all balances are reconciled before closing.
- Corporate Hyperion submissions per Group timetable.
- Local management submissions per agreed timetable.
- Review performance against budget and investigate variances.
- Ensure regular balance reviews are performed accurately.
- Ensure sales invoices and customer receipts are issued promptly to ensure minimal overdue balances.
- Ensure bank reconciliations are performed to agreed timescales.
- Prepare/approve bank payments in compliance with agreed terms.
- Production of annual budgets including regular performance reviews.
- Preparation of local statutory accounts, audit packs and tax info packs.
- To assist in the implementation of current Manufacturing Information System (CERM) and or other future automated systems and recommend changes as required.
Requirements include:
- Professional Accounting Qualification or Qualified by Experience (at least 5 years).
- Technical knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and basic tax matters.
- Interpretation/analytical skills - ability to "look beyond the numbers".
- Ability to work to strict deadline and deal well with time pressures.
- Ability to manage people through a period of system and process changes.
- Innovative to recommend change where appropriate to enhance speed, quality and efficiency of reporting.
