We, at the Simpson Judge are currently working for a full service law firm with multiple offices who are looking to bring in an experienced Court of Protection solicitor into their team based in Dudley.

Responsibilities:

- Perform a wide range of legal tasks pertaining to the Court of Protection, such as handling deputyship applications, managing client's financial matters, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Caseload Oversight: Effectively oversee a personal caseload, ensuring that cases progress in a timely manner, deadlines are met, and high standards of client care and service are upheld.
- Business Development Engagement: Actively engage in initiatives aimed at promoting the organisation's Court of Protection services. This may include networking, participating in events, and connecting with prospective clients.

Manage and assist with a diverse caseload, providing clients with comprehensive advice related to the Court of Protection, including:

- Deputyship applications for Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare.
- Applications for replacement Trustees and Gifting Deputies.
- Statutory Wills and property purchase authorisations for Attorneys or family members.
- Daily management of Deputy files and claiming benefits from the DWP and local authorities.
- Liaising with Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) regarding client fund investments.
- Guidance on contested Court of Protection matters and Deprivation of Liberty claims.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant Court of Protection experience.
- Knowledge of a wide range of Court of Protection and Public Guardian issues.
- Strong commercial acumen and drafting skills.
- Outgoing and organised, with a structured approach to issue resolution and solution development.
- Proactive in managing correspondence and capable of working independently.
- Skilled in drafting, reviewing, and issuing legal documents while meeting deadlines.
- Collaborative team player who supports colleagues and maintains professionalism in client interactions.
