Social Worker Learning Disabilities

Joining our Learning Disabilities Team as a qualified and experienced Social Worker, you'll be innovative, person-centred and committed to working in a strengths-based way. You'll enjoy working in a team that thrives on supporting each other in their work and sharing experiences and learnings to encourage continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs, strengths, and risks.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary way, successfully negotiating between the people who use our service, their families, and other professionals to reach positive outcomes.
  • Triaging safeguarding referrals and making decisions.
  • Managing a complex caseload whilst providing supervision for Case Workers and Senior Case Workers and practice advice on complex cases.
  • Building positive and professional relationships.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England (SWE), with significant UK based experience. Due to the needs of the team, we're unable to consider Newly Qualified Social Workers for this post.
  • A sound understanding of how to apply a strengths-based approach.
  • Understanding of social work issues, legal frameworks and social services' statutory duties.
  • Ability to adapt to individuals' communication needs.
  • Commitment to demonstrating the organisation's values and behaviours.
