An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly accounts team at our new Head Office in Rugeley.

Due to an ongoing period of success and growth, we are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. If you have experience with a high volume purchase ledger, sales ledger and some credit control experience, then take a look at this opportunity.

Accounts Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £24,000, increasing to £26,000 after probation.
  • Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire.
  • Job Type: Full-time, Office based.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks including processing invoices, handling accounts queries, and communicating effectively with both customers and suppliers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft 365 and have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Utilise a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents, maintain records, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Process invoices and allocate cash efficiently.
  • Liaise with staff in other departments and with external contacts to investigate and resolve any issues.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and external contacts to book travel and accommodation.
  • Manage Purchase and Sales Ledger Accounts.
  • Input purchase invoices ensuring adherence to authority and procedures.
  • Process sales invoicing and credit notes on Sage 50 and client portals.
  • Handle monthly rebates and statements.
  • Conduct credit checks on potential new customers and set credit limits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience with Sage 50 is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
