Job Title: Internal Communications Consultant

Salary Range: £44,000.00 - £55,000.00

We are seeking a talented Internal Communications Consultant to help shape and implement a robust internal communications plan that aligns with our business strategy and reflects our organisation's vision and values. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of community, inclusion, trust, and engagement within our business.
Collaborating closely with the Internal Communications Team and other key stakeholders across the organisation, you will be responsible for effective communications to internal audiences. Specifically, you will work closely with the Business Readiness and Change team on the roll-out of a key technology programme. Your role will involve developing and executing communication and engagement plans that support delivery of this programme.

Main Responsibilities as Internal Communications Consultant:
- Implement agreed communications activity to all UK-based people, which supports the delivery of business goals and the transformation agenda that drive improvements in morale, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Develop and create a wide range of communication and engagement plans and execute them as required, utilising appropriate channel selection that reflects the differing needs of the audience
- Support with planning and delivery of events that connect and engage people across our business
- Work with stakeholders from across the business, including executive leaders, to identify and develop communication plans that support our strategic narrative
- Check the effectiveness of messages and channels through regular monitoring and feedback and take any necessary steps for improvement
- Improve the level of internal communications capability by coaching team leaders and project managers in key communication skills and techniques
- Educate team leaders, project managers and key stakeholders in the way we communicate and making sure they follow the internal communications governance and processes
- Champion the importance of excellent internal communications to the business and raising any issues with the relevant business contact
- Project manage changes to internal communication processes and activities – either working alone or leading a small project team
- Liaising effectively with HR Business Partners and other key stakeholders to identify and support the development and delivery of functional IC requirements
- Proactively provide support for functional IC support including functional events
- Supporting the overall effort of the Communications and Engagement function to communicate the company's values and culture, especially by helping ensure frontline employees reflect the company's values and culture in their dealings with customers
Skills and experience you need as Internal Communications Consultant:
- Proven experience in developing and creating campaign and communication plans that support delivery
- Experience in internal communications / employee communications or change communications to support business transformation
- Experience communicating digital transformation in the insurance or wider financial services sector is desirable
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships within the organisation, communicate regularly with key individuals and with all levels.
- Able to understand and promote sensitive issues in the most appropriate and engaging way.
- Ability to spot the external comms potential of a good internal story
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong questioning and listening skills.
- Project management and prioritisation skills, to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to plan, create and execute communications.
- Excellent relationship builder with focus, energy and passion.
- Preferably degree qualified within journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage
