They are seeking to hire two Senior Auditors for their London office on an initial 6 month contract. This role is hybrid working being office based 3 days a week (ideally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), the remainder of time working from home, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. There will be some out of hours work necessary with these positions.

The Team

The roles sit within the EMEA Global Banking and Credit Risk Audit team and involves interactions across teams in the APAC, Americas and Latam regions.

The team provides audit coverage of Global Banking business globally and Credit Risk Management in EMEA, which covers the full suite of businesses across Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB), Commercial Banking (GCB), M&A Advisory, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, Global Leasing, and Global Transaction Services (GTS), e.g. Global Payments and Receivables, Cash Management, Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Cards.

Role 1: involves playing a lead role in the audits of Global Transaction Banking including product management and sales process.

Role 2: sits within the EMEA Global Banking Audit team and involves playing a lead role in the audits of M&A advisory and Capital Markets (DCM and ECM) product area incl. syndicated loan transaction.

Daily duties include for both positions:

We expect the successful candidates to work as an individual contributor or as an Auditor In-charge on regional / global audits either remotely or locally and conduct testing independently but maintain ongoing interaction and manage time zone differences. In particular:

  1. Develop an audit plan (e.g. audit scope, audit test plans) based on detailed evaluation of process/business risks & controls.
  2. Perform high-quality audit test execution.
  3. Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the projects' objectives and planned audit approach.
  4. Engage with business stakeholders to agree on potential issues / control gaps.
  5. Drafts quality and timely audit reports supporting audit opinions and share results with audit and business principals.
  6. Direct and mentor junior team members.
  7. Ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and competence. Stay informed of current economic developments, risk, processes, and controls relevant to Global Transaction Banking business incl. Global Payments, Cash Management, Trade and Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Card, Clearing / Network / Partner bank, Digital channel.
  • Exercise critical and out of box thinking, analytical skills and professional judgment to influence business partners, senior business managers and peers. Help business partners to balance their business strategy with appropriate risk management controls.
  • Work in a very detailed manner as well as look broadly across a population and develop connections and themes identifying risks and concerns.

Background and Skills:

  • Role 1: Knowledge of Global Transaction Banking products / process and associated risks.
  • Role 2: Knowledge of M&A advisory, Capital Markets (DCM/ECM) products and associated risks.

For both positions:

  • Background of Internal Audit / front office/risk management experience with minimum particularly in the Global Transaction Banking business.
  • University level of education in a recognized University.
  • Professional Certification - CA / ACCA / CFA / FRM / CIA will be a plus
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and comfortable at engaging with senior management on complex issues.
  • Solid risk assessment, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels of an organization across regions.
  • Problem solving skills including ability to apply critical thinking.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Develop team members by providing day to day coaching and guidance when acting as an AIC.
  • Sound project and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
