Job Title: Office Receptionist and Administrator
Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: 35 hours per week - Term time only + 3 weeks
Contract: Temporary until February 2025 with the possibility of extension (temp to perm)

About the Role:

Are you an organised and friendly professional with a passion for education? Our client, a leading institution in London and the South East, is seeking a dedicated Office Receptionist and Administrator to join their team. Reporting directly to the Director of SEND, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and a key support in managing the daily operations of the college's reception and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reception Management: Greet visitors, answer telephone calls, manage inquiries, and direct them appropriately to ensure a welcoming and efficient reception area.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with maintaining learner files, managing admissions, withdrawals, and updates on health issues. Handle general office duties including writing letters, responding to enquiries, and managing communications.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records, including personal files and contact information. Ensure data is up-to-date and securely stored.
  • Operational Support: Facilitate the smooth running of the college by managing tasks such as issuing ID passes, topping up Oyster cards, and coordinating with stakeholders about college activities and events.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications:

  • Level 2 English and Maths

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of administrative support in an education setting

  • Experience working in an education environment

  • Experience working in SEND at secondary or FE level

  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise

  • Personal Attributes:

  • Professional and approachable demeanour

  • Flexibility in approaching work situations
