The thriving Family Team in Exeter is seeking a dynamic NQ Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to focus on financial disputes arising from the breakdown of unmarried relationships. This challenging role demands a client-focused approach in an area experiencing significant growth.

Family Lawyer Responsibilities:

  • Handle TOLATA (Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act) claims
  • Manage Schedule 1 Children Act cases
  • Provide expert legal advice on cohabitation disputes
  • Draft and review cohabitation agreements
  • Represent clients in court proceedings when necessary
  • Conduct legal research on complex cohabitation law issues
  • Prepare detailed case files and legal documentation
  • Liaise with clients, providing clear and empathetic communication
  • Collaborate with other team members on complex cases
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in cohabitation and family law

Family Lawyer Requirements:

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Experience in TOLATA and Schedule 1 Children Act disputes (preferred)
  • Background in civil proceedings (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Team player with a commitment to exceptional client care
  • Personable, driven, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Keen interest in building a career in Private Family law, particularly cohabitation disputes
