We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Advisor to provide comprehensive HR support across our organisation. This role involves offering generalist advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, and acting as the first line of support for all end-to-end employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and absence management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as a business partner to enable the effective resolution of employee issues and develop effective people management solutions.
  • Liaise with the payroll team regarding starters, leavers, and contract changes, ensuring all payroll-related issues are recorded on the monthly payroll log.
  • Assist managers with probation reviews, providing advice on extending periods when necessary.
  • Plan and organise staff training, ensuring all training is authorised and agreements are in place.
  • Support line managers in managing both short-term and long-term staff sickness, including making occupational health referrals and developing absence management plans.
  • Provide support for family-friendly leave arrangements such as maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave/pay.
  • Generate and report management information, including data on sickness absence, equality, turnover/headcount, appraisals, and probations.
  • Undertake case work related to grievance, disciplinary, absence, and performance management matters.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records both in hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests across the organisation within agreed timescales.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPD qualification (full/part) or currently working towards it.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Degree in a relevant subject specialism is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role within a busy HR office environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment law.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and as part of a team.
  • Resilient nature and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
