Service Charge Bookkeeper job for a residential block management company based in North London.
You'll be working as a Service Charge Accountant/Bookkeeper and will be responsible for dealing with Clients and Lessees in the effective accounting of the property portfolio by providing efficient and accurate work for the administrative day to day running of each block.

Knowledge and skills of Service Charge Bookkeeper:

  • Basic understanding of block management and ability to deal with multiple s/c schedules.
  • Good knowledge of IT and excellent numerical skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt this approach for different audiences.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and show attention to detail.
  • Have 2+ years' service charge accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of property management systems (e.g. Resident, QUBE, Yardi, Tramps).

Service Charge Bookkeeper duties will include:

  • Assist property managers in preparation of reports to produce accurate service charge budgets.
  • Input service charge budgets and raise charges and demands to leaseholders.
  • Undertake and review bank reconciliations.
  • Producing monthly / quarterly income and expenditure statements for Clients.
  • Credit control - review arrears and send out automated letters in line with company policy.
  • Onboarding and monitoring payment plans.
  • Handling queries from leaseholders and suppliers by telephone and in writing, in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Quarterly Ground Rent statements to be sent within the agreed time frame.
  • Issuing S20b Notices when required.
  • Being a point of contact for customer queries relating to accounts generally.
  • Regular liaison with the Property Manager.
  • Ensuring RICS Service Charge Residential Management Code is adhered to.
