We are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our secondary school in central Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about food and nutrition education. The role requires a start before Christmas this year, offering the chance to inspire and educate young minds in a dynamic learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and informative lessons in Food Technology that meet curriculum standards.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and a passion for the subject.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
  • Stay up-to-date with educational policy and subject area developments to ensure teaching methods are current.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • A strong understanding of Food Technology curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
