We are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our secondary school in central Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about food and nutrition education. The role requires a start before Christmas this year, offering the chance to inspire and educate young minds in a dynamic learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and informative lessons in Food Technology that meet curriculum standards.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and a passion for the subject.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
- Stay up-to-date with educational policy and subject area developments to ensure teaching methods are current.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- A strong understanding of Food Technology curriculum and teaching methods.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
