SERVICE ENGINEER
Location: Bristol
Job type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 4pm, Friday 7.30 to 1pm 37.5-hour week
Salary: £16p/h + OT £24p/h
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer within the Bristol area on a permanent contract. The ideal candidate will be a skilled mechanical engineer in aerospace industry and have previous experience of working in a customer facing role with this type of equipment.
Duties & responsibilities:
To carry out a visual inspection of the customer equipment and record any damaged or missing parts in conjunction with the customer drawing or the OEM specification.
To collate kits of parts ready for assembly and highlight any missing parts to the manager
To prepare parts ready for subcontract processes/activities i.e. deburring, polishing, bead blasting etc
To assemble precision components from mechanical assembly drawings, utilising a broad range of workshop tools including the use of drills, taps etc
To attend performance meetings with manager and customer(s)
To ensure company quality systems are adhered to always.
To perform the services with a high degree of skill, care and diligence and in accordance with good industry & customer(s) practices.
To work with managers and supervisors to implement the company's policies and business objectives
Skills Required :
Full driving license
Must have previous experience of this type of work, including carrying out 'Thorough Examination of Lifting Equipment' and proof load testing.
Recognised engineering trade qualification required
Ability to interpret complex assembly drawings in both metric and imperial formats
Experience of using an ERP/Business System an advantage
Good verbal communication skills
Customer focused with excellent customer service skills
Confident in discussing payment required with customers face to face
Proactive approach in keeping records up to date
Knowledge of software including email and Word
Flexible to carry out a wide ranging role that will vary across the year
