Head of Portfolio - Inside IR35

Rate - £700 (Daily rate)

Duration - 3 Months (Initially)

Location - London (Hybrid)

Ir35 - Inside Ir35 (Must use an umbrella company)

The ideal candidate would have strong experience in CRM (Dynamics ideally) and they will be expected to build relationships across a wide stakeholder community and business partners, to ensure assigned portfolios of change are managed effectively and in alignment with the organisational strategy.

It would be advantageous if the candidate has worked previously in the higher education sector.

Job Specification:

  • Maintaining portfolio information and the associated roadmap information
  • Providing oversight and portfolio coordination with other Heads of Portfolio
  • Assuring alignment between change initiatives within a portfolio and the strategic objectives of the College
  • Making recommendations to governance groups as required by providing key information to enable prioritisation decisions
  • Ownership of all change in a portfolio, from opportunity to closure and benefits realisation
  • Leading the financial review of change within a portfolio - comparing estimates against actuals for Epics or Projects
  • Resource planning and capacity management within each portfolio in accordance with the frameworks we operate
  • Line management responsibility for change delivery staff
  • Recruiting to the portfolio team as required
  • Demonstrating that the delivery of change initiatives in the portfolio are conducted within the capacity of the organisation
  • Ensuring stakeholder engagement for securing realisation of intended benefits
  • Reporting actual benefits relative to intended benefits over the longer term
  • Reporting on portfolio status and making recommendations
  • Chairing portfolio governance meetings
  • Identifying and sharing lessons learned
  • Establishing effective working partnerships with stakeholders from outside of IT (e.g. Sponsors, Planning Group Leads) as required
  • Coordinate portfolio reporting and cross portfolio risks and dependencies
  • Input to organisational strategy governing the direction and conduct of project management, including application of appropriate methodologies
  • To maintain and monitor budget across the portfolio (estimated in the £m's)
