We are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Paralegal for a well regarded law firm based in Brighouse.
The successful individual will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of residential property work including:
- Answering the phones and providing updates to clients, referrers and any other relevant parties
- Updating portals where necessary
- Providing estimates of costs to clients and referrers
- Opening files and carrying out ID checks
- Sending initial funds on account letters
- Assisting clients with using the Legal Bricks portal where necessary
- Dealing with dictation or tasks given to them by the fee earner they are working for.
- Sending standard letters or bespoke letters as per fee earner requirements.
- Obtaining copy title and drafting and issuing contract packs
- Applying for searches and carrying out map searches
- Checking lender portals regularly for mortgage offers
- Setting files up for completion and carry out final checks
- Updating lender portals with final search results request mortgage monies
- Producing e chits for completion monies on both sales and purchases to include the sending of redemption monies, client monies estate agents fees and referral fees the sending of purchase monies
- Ensuring completion packs are properly marked and sent to a partner and accounts in plenty of time for completion.
- Updating the completions diary
- Requesting help to buy or lifetime ISA money and to update the help to buy system post completion
- Submission of SDLT forms and payment of stamp duty
- Putting in place and paying for indemnity policies
- Preparing the files for post completion department
- Checking the ledger and dealing with balances
