We are seeking a dedicated Phonics Tutor to join our team in the Offender Learning Sector. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on the lives of others, helping them improve their literacy skills and contribute positively to their communities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Teach phonics and early reading improvements across the prison.
- Contribute to the overall improvements in phonics and early reading to ensure high-quality teaching and effective progress for learners.
- Deliver both accredited and non-accredited Functional Skills English classes.
- Engage with learners to inspire them and instil a love of learning.
- Assess and record learners' progress and provide feedback to help them improve.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Full teaching qualification (Minimum of CTLLS) or PGCE.
- Experience in teaching phonics, whether in primary education or adult learning.
- A genuine interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver educational programs.
