Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a leading independent day school for girls in Sutton. This role involves supporting a senior school pupil as part of their Education and Health Care Plan, ensuring they achieve their full potential in both social interactions and academic pursuits.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide individual attention, reassurance, and assistance to a high-ability pupil, encouraging them to engage fully in their learning and school activities.
- Support the pupil across various subjects, with a focus on enhancing their English and Maths skills.
- Work within our Neurodiversity Hub, assisting students who require specialised support.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to facilitate a supportive and effective educational environment.
- Utilise excellent communication skills to build strong, positive relationships with both students and staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification such as NVQ, NNEB, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in an educational setting, particularly in supporting students with diverse educational needs.
- Strong proficiency in English and Maths.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, empathise, and engage effectively with children.
- Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a dynamic educational environment.
