Service Charge Accountant

The role: Provide property management accounting services and service charge accounting for Property Management, ensuring that financial reporting is provided in line with best practice procedures and client requirements, in an accurate and timely manner.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain the Service Charge Tracker
- Liaise with the external auditors and manage their workflow system and tracker
- Manage and track onboarding and offboarding handovers
- Assist with Service Charge reconciliations and training
- Work with Surveyors and Facilities management team to prepare accurate service charge yearend reconciliations.
- Full review off all expenditure and invoices including a budget v actual review.
- Completion of utility reconciliations
- Maintenance of client liabilities and voids
- Maintain accurate lease information for tenants.
- To ensure that all reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with the RICS code.
- Prepare expenditure reports and associated documents to be sent to external accountant for preparation of external service charge accounts.
- To produce cash reconciliation of the service charge ledger and post any required journals.
- Reconciliation and implementation of previous agent handover information on to system
- Preparation of handover pack for sold and ceased management properties including transfer of all balances and cash.
Requirements:
- Prior Service charge accounting experience
- use of a large property management system
- cash reconciliation experience
- To be able to commit to a 12 month FTC
