We are excited to welcome a dynamic and skilled English teacher to our team in Blackburn! Your enthusiasm and expertise will be essential in motivating and guiding our KS3 and KS4 students. In return, you'll receive a competitive daily pay rate ranging from £155 to £230, based on your qualifications, experience, and teaching performance.

In this role, your goal will be to foster a love for reading and writing while encouraging critical thinking and effective communication skills among students. In addition to assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback, you will create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and motivated to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays
  • Using imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience in children
  • Having control over the whole class and maintaining discipline
  • Adhering to the curriculum, including up to date changes in the structure
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • Punctual and reliable

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal Attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
