Support Worker - Child Support Worker

Are you a dedicated support worker who can support children and young people in all aspects of education and life skills?

Are you looking for long-term or permanent roles in the Manchester area?

We are now recruiting for a number of long-term roles in the Manchester area with care providers such as Horizons care / Believe and Achieve / Seashells Trust / Bright Future to help them onboard dedicated staff in their setting.

These settings are unique and offer support from all aspects, including residential and educational support. Pupils can have a variety of complex needs and need additional support for mental health and wellbeing. Our centres are looking for staff to work long-term roles in day / waking night / and sleep shifts.

Experience in support work and working with children is essential for this role. We cannot accept domiciliary care experience at this time. Our sites are looking for people who can work in a challenging and fast-paced environment and can de-escalate behavioural situations. You need to be nurturing and caring for this role based on the experiences of the youths and children in these centres.

Your new company
Hays are currently recruiting for multiple support worker roles that support children with various disabilities such as behavioural disorders, autistic spectrum disorders and learning disabilities. We have multiple job roles available, varying from permanent, temporary long-term, full-time, part-time, waking nights, sleeps and days.

Your new role

- Supporting children with learning disabilities, autism and other needs - Providing personal care.
- Providing mental support.
- Encouraging independence.
- Supporting living needs.
- Supporting and engaging in activities.

What you'll need to succeed
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 health and social care children and young people preferred but not essential.
- Experience of working with children in an educational or care setting.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- A minimum of 6 months experience in the last 2 years in similar services/roles.
- A driving licence is advantageous but not essential.- Above all, we are looking for people who'll put the person they support first. That means being patient and caring and communicating effectively with them and with others involved in their care.
