Learning and Development Officer

Our client, a Fire and Rescue service is seeking a Learning & Development Officer to join their Learning and Development Team for a period of 12 months. This role will be vital in the review, design and implementation of the service's revised development programmes.

Location: Agile working - Command Headquarters, Sheffield, S1 3FG / Other Sites and Stations / Home
Salary: £26,421 - £28,770 (Grade 5)
Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months
Hours: 37 per week. Monday - Tuesday (Flexi Time)

The successful post holder will undertake administrative project work and research in support of the service's Development Review Project. This will incorporate the design and facilitation of information sessions to help the service to evaluate their current development programmes.

Ideally you will have a background in learning and development and knowledge of evaluation and project methodologies. You will have assisted in the development and delivery of training frameworks and have delivered effective face to face and digital training and evaluation solutions.

To enable you to carry out this role effectively, you will have an understanding of project methodologies and the effective use of evaluation. You will also hold a relevant Level 3 learning & development related qualification.

The role will be agile. You will work be based at Headquarters and attend other sites and stations as well as home working.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. The Service offer 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years' service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. They also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.
