I am excited to be working with a local authority in south, central Hampshire who have asked us to help them identify a new Head of Property on a permanent basis.

Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible / hybrid
Salary: Up to £69,549 with a market supplement available for the right candidate

The Role
As the Head of Property, you will be the lead expert on asset management and investment issues within the Council.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building relationships with external stakeholders
  • Liaising with senior decision-makers, including councillors and service directors
  • Creating the Council's asset management strategy
  • Leading an action plan for strategy implementation
  • Managing portfolio performance and various teams involved in asset management
  • Driving system improvements and ensuring effective IT solutions across the property team
  • Identifying income generation opportunities and maximising capital returns from the portfolio

About You
To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant qualification in a property discipline
  • Chartered surveyor status (MRICS or FRICS)
  • Experience at a senior management level
  • Strong knowledge of council services related to asset management, including facilities management, building surveying, and property investment and divestment
  • Political awareness
  • Familiarity with commercial transactions and business drivers affecting local authorities
  • Strong leadership skills, including motivation and mentoring
  • A full driving licence
