Lead Senior Procurement Manager

Your new role
The purpose of this role is to enable their customers to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients and populations. The post holder will define current processes, facilitate discussions and advise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted in the definition of future processes, document those processes as they are agreed and oversee their delivery.

  • To design and manage procurement projects and programmes that deliver high quality, innovative and value for money services through procurement/commissioning processes and timescales that comply with all relevant guidance and legislation.
  • To support the Associate Director of Procurement in developing and maintaining strategic and operational relationships through effective account management with key individuals and other stakeholders, identifying their needs and ambitions and building a service to meet these needs.
  • Leading and mentoring Procurement team members
  • The procurement team predominantly provide procurement support to commissioners of healthcare services for the NHS across the South of England, who commission services for all settings, including within the community, within primary care, health and justice, public health, specialised commissioning and armed forces categories.
  • Managing large scale complex procurements
  • End to end Procurement with strong focus on strategic planning and Pre-Procurement phases.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The successful candidate will have extensively worked within the NHS and healthcare or have worked in a similar public sector industry.
  • You will be able to run Procurements inline with Procurement Contract regulations and against new NHS regulations coupled with the new Procurement Act 2023 changes.
  • You must be able to commute to the Southwest around once or twice per month to the office
  • Demonstrate examples of where you have Procured Health Care Services, i.e. Dentistry services
  • Ideally, CIPS/ MCPS, or working towards.
