Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and preparing nutritionally balanced meals for our residents, managing the kitchen, and ensuring compliance with current culinary standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents.
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide training as necessary.
- Stay updated on current culinary trends and dietary needs of residents.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the care team to accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Food Hygiene or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of current culinary trends and processes.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A passion for creating nutritious and delicious meals.
