Reed are working with one of the UK's leading Social Housing Providers to recruit a Service Manager in Swindon, to oversee 2 Supported Housing services for individuals with learning disabilities and an accommodation-based service supporting young parents aged 16-25.

The ideal candidate will manage a team to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, ensuring delivery of legislative and contractual performance requirements.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage services to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, championing the organisation's service style.
  • Provide motivational leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the team, ensuring effective communication and personal development.
  • Manage team performance to deliver outstanding service, reviewing work outputs, appraising performance, and setting improvement targets.
  • Ensure service compliance with all policies, procedures, legislative and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and report on service performance and compliance, providing accurate reports to line managers.
  • Participate in budget setting and management, monitoring spend and reporting variances.
  • Build relationships with community partners and promote the organisation at local stakeholder meetings.
  • Apply best practice and relevant legislation to service delivery, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and other regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and promote high levels of customer consultation, communication, and partnership in service delivery.
  • Work as part of a management team across the area and region, collaborating with central support teams and other teams within the organisation.
  • Respond to complaints and anti-social behaviour issues in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Participate in out-of-hours management arrangements for the area/region.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience within a housing and/or support environment.
  • Experience working with vulnerable service users.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in IT systems including Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel..
  • Ability to write reports and organise effectively.
  • Flexible and responsive attitude.

Desirable:

  • Formal care, support, or housing qualification.
  • Experience managing and developing a small team.

  • This role requires participation in a telephone-based on-call rota.
