About the role The role of Family Support Assistant is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment supporting the Multidisciplinary Team in the delivery of effective clinical support through assessment, formulation and ongoing support to children and families accessing the service. Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing ‘wrap around' support to families from application to case closure
  • Scheduled telephone calls to families following their assessments
  • Covering the clinical and main reception
  • Responding to telephone, written and electronic enquiries
  • Carrying out online research, provide information and signpost to relevant services
  • Creating and maintaining high quality, accurate records.
  • Meeting, greeting, interacting and supporting families in a helpful and courteous manner, building positive relationships

About you To be successful for the role of Family Support Assistant, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with children or adults (and their families) with a learning disability, autism, ADHD and/or complex needs in health or education settings
  • Educated to GCSE level including numeracy and literacy
  • Level 3 or NVQ 3 in a social care related subject or equivalent
  • Knowledge of childhood developmental milestones and safeguarding principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent IT skills
