The Payroll Advisor is a critical role responsible for managing the payroll process within the Accounting & Finance department of the FMCG industry. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of payroll systems, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding confidentiality.

Are you ready to take your payroll expertise to the next level in a dynamic, supportive environment?

Our client is a globally recognised business, and they're looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Advisor to join their growing team in Bootle where you will be supporting the processing of over 19 different payrolls across different system

Your Role:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls in line with our high-quality standards and business timelines.
  • Manage Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC with precision and attention to detail.
  • Handle pension administration and Auto Enrolment Reporting for a variety of schemes, ensuring all contributions are processed smoothly.
  • Oversee statutory and voluntary deductions, providing detailed breakdowns and accurate reconciliations.
  • Manage payroll master data activities, including new starters and tax code adjustments.
  • Respond to requests for payroll data in a clear, user-friendly format to meet the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with and support the Payroll Manager, Leads, and wider team to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Uphold a strong control environment by maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation and adhering to internal controls at all times.

Profile

We're looking for someone with:

  • Payroll Experience: You should have solid experience managing multiple payrolls, including remote and complex ones, handling year-end processes, and managing tax changes.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Rules: You need to understand PAYE, National Insurance, SSP, SMP, and RTI.
  • Tech Skills: Experience using computerised systems for time and attendance as well as manual methods to enter payroll data.
  • Improvement Mindset: You have experience improving payroll processes to make them more efficient.
  • Excel Skills: You should be comfortable using Excel to handle payroll data.
  • Familiarity with Systems: If you know how to use ELF Time and Attendance or Success Factors payroll systems, that's a plus.
  • Detail-Oriented: You should have a strong focus on accuracy and quality, as monthly reporting to Group Pensions needs to be 100% correct.
