An excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: Competitive Salary, Depending on Experience.

Location: Bodmin Workshop and Mobile across Devon & Cornwall.

About The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FGAS Qualified, transport refrigeration engineer. The company will also consider applications from experienced mechanical and electrical automotive engineers, as specific on-the-job training can be provided. Full Driving Licence required.

This position involves travel and, once fully trained, you would be required to work an on-call rota as part of the engineering team, currently 1 in 6 (evenings and weekends), providing 24/7 breakdown cover to customers. 40 hours per week, plus overtime.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To service and repair all makes of refrigeration units, portable cold stores and ancillary equipment to a high standard, including air-conditioning and climate control units.
  • To participate in a stand-by rota to provide customers with 24/7 breakdown cover.
  • To liaise and communicate with customers face-to-face or by any other means of communication, acting with professionalism, honesty and integrity and maintaining the customer's good working relationship with the Company.
  • Attend customer sites and adhere to site requirements, maintaining the good reputation of the Company at all times.
  • To observe all Health and Safety Policies at all times.
  • To complete engineer reports, job sheets, time sheets and any other paperwork or tick sheets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To maintain van stocks, keeping accurate records of transfers from stock locations and usage on jobs.
  • To carry out regular checks of allocated van and equipment
  • To attend and complete training courses as required.
  • To perform any other duties as assigned or as necessitated by the changing nature of the business and developments within the industry.

Experience / Qualifications needed:

  • City and Guilds Level 2 Award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical automotive engineering.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Will be required to undertake company and job specific health and safety and product training
  • Literacy and numeracy.
