Service Charge Accountant - 12 month FTC

The role: To work for a friendly and successful London based property company who own and manage a commercial and residential portfolio, based in central London and throughout England, Scotland and Wales. This fixed term position is working within a small and busy team who are part of the Property Management Department.
Duties:
- The preparation of all service charge reconciliations on a large mixed-use portfolio. (Commercial and long leasehold residential).
- In conjunction with the property managers, prepare initial review of year end expenditure, posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
- To agree final year expenditure ready for billing to tenants.
- Once reviews are complete and expenditure agreed with internal managers, draft tenant's packs with internal reconciliations produced for Head of Department sign off.
- Following approvals, the creation of year end packs ready for closure on the system.
- Ensure certificates are issued to tenants.
- Working directly with the Head of Department on targeted properties.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of service charges
- Preparation of year end accounts, budgets, tenant queries and leases.
- Understanding of RICS commercial service charge code and Landlord & Tenant Act
- Able to work in collaboration within a small team
- Demonstrable experience in property roles - residential and commercial
- Worked on a large commercial mixed-use portfolio.
- Solid knowledge of service charge clauses within leases.
- Landlord and Tenant Legislation
- Knowledge of RICS Service Charge Code Skills
