Business Change Manager / Training Lead

This role will implement changes to teaching and learning software and business processes to support the delivery of flexible learning and enhance the experience of the client's students and staff. It will lead the development and implementation of a training strategy and plan for the programme.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Provide support for change managers, business leads, project teams, and other relevant colleagues to ensure that the change projects deliver against their objectives.
  • Work with colleagues to define and deliver projects. This will include understanding and interpretation of a range of information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Work with the PMO Project Manager to support the production of project plans, schedules and reports for a range of audiences. Including but not limited to project budgets and financial updates, risk and issues logs, and technical specifications to meet the project and client requirements.
  • Working with the business sponsor(s), business lead(s) and other colleagues as appropriate, to develop change management plans for projects including communications plans and schedules.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the University's senior managers, including Faculty/School- based managers, on key matters arising from the project. In particular, to develop and ensure consistent implementation of agreed process improvements to support the project.
  • Management of significant process and organisational change, including management of staff through organisational change and successful implementation of radical and innovative solutions.
  • Analysis of complex data, including interpreting and recognising trends and patterns, comprehension of complex information, and identifying additional data sources or best practice to help devise solutions.
  • Lead and/or make a significant contribution to institutional committees and groups governing the project.
  • Benchmark and develop KPIs for the project so that the University can be seen as a leader exemplifying best practice, including sharing and learning from the experience of others.
  • Lead, organise and direct the work of the project team so that its objectives are met and it is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Work closely with the PMO to access available resource and support, including the use of standard operating procedures,
  • Undertake such other duties as may be required from time-to-time commensurate with the level of responsibility of the role.

Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong track record leading the design and delivery of training for systems and processes, have experience of teaching and learning tools, and change management experience.

Experience required:

  • Significant experience of managing, or making a significant contribution to, large change projects
  • Evidence of a proactive approach to generating new ideas, seeing and seizing opportunities and the ability to create and communicate these plans
  • The ability to innovate and understanding of associated change management skills and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, team building and decision making skills combined with the ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage constructively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills within a complex environment

Job Offer

The role offers a 12 month contract with flexibility for home working. It is anticipated that the successfu candidate will need to spend 2 days a week onsite.
