Our clients Pump Rental branch in Bracknell is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Hire Controller to join our clients team. They are a leading provider of pump solutions, and the Hire Controllers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of their pump rental services. Role Overview:
As a Hire Controller, you will be a pivotal link between our clients organisation and valued stakeholders, including both internal teams and external clients. You will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of our day-to-day operations, supported by our experienced branch team. The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter with excellent communication and administrative skills, a strong aptitude for technology, and a background in the Hire industry or a related field.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular telephone contact. Become their preferred choice for pump rental needs by understanding their requirements and delivering exceptional service.
  • Appointment Coordination: Arrange appointments for sales teams or representatives to visit clients. Facilitate detailed equipment discussions and gather requirements to ensure optimal equipment solutions.
  • Efficient Asset Utilisation: Maximise the utilisation of Company assets by effectively coordinating the hiring of pumps. Ensure that equipment is hired out efficiently and effectively, adhering to operational procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Paperwork and Systems Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Company systems and paperwork. Ensure that contract documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Logistics Coordination: Organise cost-effective transport logistics for equipment delivery and collection. Ensure timely collection of equipment at the end of hire agreements and accurate scheduling of deliveries to customers.
  • Sales Support: Communicate sales leads promptly to the sales staff. Collaborate closely with the sales team to support business growth.
  • Rate Negotiation: Negotiate hire rates in line with established price lists and discount policies.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and effectively solve problems.
  • Technical knowledge of pumps and familiarity with Hire or Booking Systems is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a willingness to develop new skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Hire or similar industry role is essential.
  • A strong understanding of pump technology or similar equipment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in administrative tasks and system management.
