Our client, a leading utilities company, is seeking a highly strategic Regulatory Policy Manager to join their team on a temporary basis for 9 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing regulatory price control arrangements that will drive the revenues and service levels of our client's core regulated network businesses into the next decade.

Role: Regulatory Policy Manager

Duration: 9 Months

Location: Warwick (Hybrid)

As the Regulatory Policy Manager, you will bring insightful and strategic thought leadership to the business, influencing key stakeholders and translating regulatory strategy into actionable plans. You will act as a key interface between external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and our client's regulated businesses. Leading both direct reports and virtual teams, you will ensure the successful delivery of key pieces of work that contribute to a well-justified business plan submission.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing thought leadership and shaping options for the current price control process.
  • Leading the interface with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders to deliver a successful regulatory outcome.
  • Working with senior leadership teams to refine and execute the regulatory strategy for network investment.
  • To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline. You will possess strong experience in managing virtual teams and have the ability to influence executive leaders and senior external stakeholders. Collaborative by nature, you will establish effective partnerships across the business and foster a strong team culture. With excellent strategic thinking and tactical implementation skills, you will be highly motivated, organised, and detail oriented.

Additionally, you will have a broad knowledge of the utilities industry, including the commercial value drivers and regulatory environment. Understanding the technical challenges associated with operating and maintaining electricity transmission networks will be essential. Your leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills combined with a track record of dealing with regulatory issues will set you apart.
