Quality Technician

Our client, a dynamic and innovative organisation, is seeking a Quality Technician to join their team in a permanent, full-time capacity.

As a Quality Technician, you will have the opportunity to work within a factory environment, supporting the Quality Manager to develop and maintain Product Safety and Quality systems. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance standards on-site.
  • Challenging packaging safety systems and reviewing and updating plans as required.
  • Managing document control and maintaining the Product Safety and Quality Management System.
  • Collaborating with the Quality Manager to implement internal audit programmes.
  • Performing packaging/artwork checks, approvals, and shelf life inspections.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives in manufacturing and business processes.
  • Reporting any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring proper collation and filing of documentation.
  • Conducting daily quality control inspections on production lines.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding non-conforming products.
  • Supporting the Quality Manager with any additional requests.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Excellent written, numerical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical ability to record, interpret, and analyse key process data.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sage systems.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or environment.
  • HACCP/HARA certification.

In addition to the qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills when dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of food legislation and BRC Global Standard for packaging.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong self-organisation, motivation, planning, prioritising, and time management abilities.
