Algorithm Specialist Role Description:
As an Algorithm Specialist, you'll be an integral part of our enthusiastic engineering team, responsible for supporting studies, managing complex performance trades between software and hardware and support algorithm proving activities.
Activities span the entire product life cycle, including early research studies, feasibility and concept stages, product development, and customer support. This role offers a broad range of experiences and variety. Our team engages with algorithm users, understanding and responding to their requirements to develop solutions that meet performance needs.
Algorithm Specialist Responsibilities:
- Develop specific algorithms or studies to support key programmes.
- Conduct concept studies, algorithm design and trade-off studies, trials preparation, trials analysis and reporting, architecture definition, and algorithm and model validation.
- Act autonomously as a point of contact for interactions with other project teams, such as Simulation and Modelling, Software, Hardware-in-the-Loop, Systems Design & Validation, and Technical Quality.
- Perform technical analyses and investigations into a full range of issues and problems, preparing and developing solutions either individually or as part of a project team.
- Engage with algorithm users to understand and respond to their needs effectively.
Skills Required:
- Experience in algorithm development in relevant areas such as guidance, control, data fusion, navigation, and artificial intelligence.
- Beneficial experience in Mathematical Modelling, including areas such as flight dynamics, aerodynamics, sensors, and actuation systems.
- Proficiency in simulation environments (e.g., MATLAB and Simulink, or similar) and programming languages (e.g., FORTRAN, Python).
