English Subject Lead
Are you an exceptional English teacher with a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of students with SEND and SEMH needs? We are currently seeking an English Subject Lead to join our Milton Keynes-based academy. As the English Subject Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our holistic alternative-education provision team, helping to shape brighter futures for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Coordination: You will prepare and deliver a broad, balanced, high-quality, and differentiated English curriculum for students aged 11-18.
- Understanding Student Needs: You will work closely with students who have Education Health Care Plans and additional needs, including social communication and learning difficulties.
- Raising Standards: You will join our dedicated team in developing and embedding a reading programme that caters to all students, particularly those who have not yet discovered the joy of reading.
- Pastoral Duties: As a form tutor, you will provide individualised support to students navigating academic or personal challenges.
Candidate Profile:
- Teaching Proficiency: You possess up-to-date knowledge of teaching and learning methodologies, understand different learning styles, assessment techniques, and English examination specifications. Your excellence in classroom teaching is a testament to your skills.
- Experience with SEND and SEMH Students: Your successful experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs equips you to understand and cater to the diverse needs of all students.
