Quality Engineer

Job Description:

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring quality and safety throughout the organization. The Quality Engineers role will involve improving processes, reducing errors and waste, and ensuring that we operate at our highest capability. You will also play a key role in maintaining ISO9001 accreditation and working with suppliers to ensure the quality of components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ISO9001 Compliance:

  • Plan and conduct continuous reviews to ensure compliance across all business functions.

  • Collaborate with external audit teams for verification and legal compliance.

  • Engage with employees to incorporate process improvements and update documentation accordingly.

  • Ensure new employees are informed about ISO9001 requirements in conjunction with their manager.

  • Supplier Quality:

  • Perform incoming goods inspections, either randomly or following an agreed process.

  • Manage the reject process for supplied goods, collaborating with suppliers for replacement, rectification, or AFI rectification at cost.

  • Work with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure compliance with our requirements, including site visits as needed.

  • Conduct annual reviews and grading of all suppliers.

  • Vet and audit new suppliers as required.

  • Equipment Quality:

  • Sign off on equipment as complete and ready to ship, ensuring quality records and documentation are thorough.

  • Manage customer complaints and follow through within the business to drive improvements.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Critically evaluate processes and procedures, involving operatives in promoting improvements.

  • Engage employees to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Maintain KPIs to highlight the performance of the quality function.

  • Introduce new KPIs as needed to drive the function forward.

  • Implement corrective actions when outcomes do not meet requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in quality engineering and familiarity with ISO9001 standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
