Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Reception)

Location: Bolton

Empowering Learning are seeking a compassionate and motivated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join one of our Primary Schools in the Bolton area. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a child in Reception who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on a young child's educational experience and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to the child throughout the school day.
  • Assist with mobility around the classroom and school premises.
  • Support the child with personal care needs as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to adapt learning materials and activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress and any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of mobility issues and experience with wheelchair users is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Teaching Assistance are preferred but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
  • 2 x proffessional references obtained
