Empowering Learning are seeking a compassionate and motivated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join one of our Primary Schools in the Bolton area. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a child in Reception who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on a young child's educational experience and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support and assistance to the child throughout the school day.
- Assist with mobility around the classroom and school premises.
- Support the child with personal care needs as required.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to adapt learning materials and activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on the child's progress and any concerns to the relevant staff.
- Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
- Understanding of mobility issues and experience with wheelchair users is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Teaching Assistance are preferred but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
- 2 x proffessional references obtained
