IT Support Helpdesk Engineer

We are a growing, local Managed Service Provider (MSP) with two Midlands based offices and a strong technical team. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional IT support and services to our diverse client base.

We offer a flexible hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

We are seeking an experienced Second Line Support Engineer to join our busy helpdesk team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining customer networks on premise, within our own data centre and public cloud environments. You will be responsible for diagnosing and fixing faults across a range of varied workloads.

Key Responsibilities As IT Support Helpdesk Engineer:

  • Provide day-to-day support on a busy helpdesk.
  • Maintain and manage customer networks on-prem, datacenter and cloud environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults and act as an escalation point for the technical team.
  • Work extensively with Office 365, Backups.
  • Drive to customer sites as required to provide on-site support and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Document all support activities and resolutions in the helpdesk system.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Office 365, Active Directory and basic networking.
  • Proven experience in both on-site and helpdesk support roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and fix faults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive and access to a vehicle for customer site visits when required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+, or similar.
  • Networking, VLANS, Wireless, Firewalls, Intune
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices.
