Social Media Executive

We are looking for a Social Media Executive to lead the transformation of our travel client's social media marketing activity, making it more dynamic, customer-centric, and commercially impactful. You will engage their target audience through captivating stories that showcase the unique cultural adventures our company offers, dreaming up creative campaign concepts and refining them into measurable deliverables.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop and curate engaging content that resonates with audiences
  • Collaborate with experts to uncover and share fascinating stories of the people and places we work with, combining dynamic imagery/video with creative copy.
  • Manage and own social media channels, ensuring consistent and on-brand posts, geared towards digital KPIs.
  • Respond to direct messages/comments, fostering conversation, building relationships, passing on leads, and relaying insight about trends or sentiment among our audience.
  • Plan and execute innovative social media campaigns that align with broader marketing and PR activity to drive engagement, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
  • Employ a test-and-learn approach to different content types to identify what resonates best with the audience.
  • Report on performance and commercial impact, regularly auditing activity and outcomes, making suggestions for continuous improvement, and benchmarking against competitors.
  • Help set standards for what brilliant looks like in our social media activity.
  • Work closely with the Content Marketing Manager and the wider marketing team to ensure alignment and support broader marketing goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A passion and drive to own social media channels for a global business
  • Proven experience as a Social Media Executive or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful social media campaigns and day-to-day activity.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, scheduling and reporting tools, and best practices.
  • Strong copywriting, content creation, and storytelling skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for social media and travel, with a journalistic curiosity about the cultures and destinations we work with.
  • A customer-centric approach with a focus on understanding and engaging our customers.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, continuously seeking new opportunities to enhance our social media presence.
  • Excellent team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across different locations and departments.
  • Comfortable with data analysis and using insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
