Assistant Accountant

Day to Day of the Role:
- Managing payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Overseeing the sales ledger to maintain and update customer accounts.
- Handling the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and payments.
- Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Preparing CIS returns in compliance with industry standards.
- Ensuring VAT and HMRC compliance across all financial transactions.
- Managing petty cash and performing general accounts administration tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role.
- Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Capable of managing your own workload while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with team members and external partners.
- Problem-solving skills to address and resolve accounting issues as they arise.
- Experience within the construction/property industry is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is advantageous.
