Regional Construction Tutor

m2r Education are working with this training and development company who provide a range of public services, including employment support, skills training, independent living and prison education. In addition, they are recognised as being one of the Top 25 Education and Training providers to work for.

This role is to cover HMP Whatton, HMP Onley, HMP North Sea Camp, HMP Lincoln, HMP Morton Hall and HMP Leicester. The base of the candidate will be the closest site to your home address. This is a fixed term contract for one year. Experience of teaching multi skills (Bricks, Paints, Catering etc) is required.

As a Regional Construction Tutor, you will be working with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations.

This role requires travel across the below locations:

  • HMP Whatton
  • HMP Onley
  • HMP North Sea Camp
  • HMP Lincoln
  • HMP Morton Hall
  • HMP Leicester

Your main base will be the closest location to your home address.

Requirements

  • Maths and English Level 2 needed for Vocational Tutors and Level 3 needed for Functional Skills Tutors.
  • Candidates must be CSCS qualified, have experience in multi skills for example Bricks, Paints, Catering + relevant qualification
  • Full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or equivalent (e.g. PGCE. Cert Ed, DITLS)
  • Subject specialist qualification.
  • The ability to handle challenging situations whilst remaining calm and in control especially in a group situation.
  • Respect for and understanding of Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies with specific attention to health and safety requirements when organising off-site activities.
  • A passion to motivate and lead by example to support people to achieve qualifications.
  • Experience of developing curriculum/ programmes of learning and of planning & delivering on a roll-on, roll-off programme.
