About the Role:
We are actively contributing to the UK's Net Zero by 2050 targets through our support of the civil nuclear power industry. This role sits within our expanding Nuclear Modelling and Analysis team, where you'll address diverse projects within nuclear energy, including power generation, life extension, and decommissioning.
As part of our team, you'll enjoy the challenge of solving complex technical problems for civil nuclear clients. In recent projects, we've conducted structural integrity assessments for nuclear pressure vessels, developing models that evaluate defect tolerance using MATLAB and Python, and produced documents to support nuclear reactor safety and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural integrity analysis for nuclear pressure vessels, including defect tolerance and degradation assessments.
- Prepare safety documentation and operational justifications for reactor components, ensuring the highest nuclear safety standards.
- Collaborate with station colleagues to develop and implement solutions for plant repairs and replacements.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from client engagement and bid production to delivery and project closeout, allowing for skill development in all facets of consultancy work.

Requirements:
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a STEM field, ideally with modules in structures, structural analysis, or integrity.
- Proven engineering experience and ability to deliver technical work to time, cost, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working as a mechanical engineer, specifically in the structural integrity field.
- Experience working in the nuclear industry is NOT required.
